Last week there was a strong Olympic presence. This week it’s all about being Black. Well… mostly.
On the queer front, I went to a screening of the pre-production, final cut of Aerlyn Weissman’s film for Out on Screen the Portside. Good film. You should see it. Can I say how fun it was to see that bathroom makeout scene with Crema and Illena? How hot are they?
And let me tell you… Vancouver really does need a queer community centre. I’ve been going to meetings on the subject for a while. Yes, it’s true. Action needs to occur. A good question was asked; What are you prepared to do. Considering how long I’ve had the deam of a facility… a lot.
- C’mon… Interactive Male’s logo is being challenged by the Olympic Committee?? http://bit.ly/2PLE4 get a grip! Tell me. Can you see it?
- http://bit.ly/OcbEG Sorry. I am no longer polite about racism, the impact it has on me or what it is to be PoC. This is why. YOU suck it up
- Two steps forward… one step back… http://bit.ly/N4VDp Happy Pride.
- Question: Can you drown a man in the fountain of eternal life? Discuss…
- Last night: a mtg of top artistic PoCs in Vannie, Arelyn Weisman’s film for the Queer Filmfest (yes!), and Xtra West’s Cuture Salon. *sigh*
- Off to Xtra West’s 7pm Town Hall mtg re: The Centre. It’s great when my employment and personal interest cross over. Coming?
- Well that was an interesting community town hall. Lot’s to think about and report to the office. Damn! I want a centre for queers.
- Van Island w/ my 3 neieces. A couple hrs playing Settlers of Catan, then prawning (200) and crabbing (4). Next: Tailgate party!
- RT @GloriaBrame: “Women of Color in Adult Entertainment” http://bit.ly/3KYwCO and “The Show Must Colorfully Go On!” http://bit.ly/cj9iH
- No. Really? http://bit.ly/yWX10 Give me back the mysteries of LIFE! You can keep Santa but I want Ogopogo, Yeti, Loch Ness, Sasquatch…
- In my EastVan way I sneer at my parent’s this gated community w/ their kitchen view of the 18th hole but 3 deer in the garden + coffee rawks
- There’s a reason I don’t use the language of “Master/slave”. This reality is not me: http://bit.ly/11me0V. I deserve better… so do you.
- The berry picking brigade of neices and parents is off to pick saskatoons, then pie-crust making lessons and dessert indulgence
- Spent the evening with the three biracial nieces (8, 11 & 13) teaching them hair care, self love & trading stories about being a black girl
