- The questions of demographic participation and diversity are similar btwn the arts and BDSM culture. The key dif is legality…
- Thought: commercial sex = high art. Tribal = community art. Same problems: recruitment, sustainability, legitimacy, participation.
- There is plenty of bad theatre and performers in politics but it doesn’t mean they know anything about arts – Spencer Herbert MLA
- Day 2 Van Arts Summit – never give a fed or prov politician a mic. 6 ppl on the Strategy panel. 5 wht ppl. No ability or age reps
- Van Arts Summit: Now reviewing funding models (govm’t/ arms-length) study requested by council.
- Van Arts Summit – funding model consultation groups: Governance, decision-making processes, healthy functioning, and partnerships
- Van Arts Summit – Social Enterprise Session: blending ROI w/ social return as opposed to fueling NFPs w/ commercial funds.
