Snapshot of the week ending : 2009-03-09

The week began with closing out the South Plains Master Slave conference. Glad I went. I got stories but most of them are around the culture of the place.

Have to say that I expected a higher level of… well… manners. Protocol. Something.There were incidents that distressed me. And I’d like to talk/write about them, but you know what? I’m a coward. I’m not into public disclosures that will breed or heighten dissension. Not in the way that my thoughts on what I experienced could. So don’t bother asking unless yer one of those people who have darkened the door of my apartment.

The week was full of work related to Mayhem. It’s gonna be good. If I survive the work it takes to pull it off. If you’re a past, present or future woman, I hope that you’ll join us in Vancouver for the first conference of its kind in Western Canada since 1993.

Work was productive and not. I love lead projects. I love being underestimated and giving people pause.

The monthly Top Shelf meeting happened again this week and it just left me feeling hungry. But I did manage to begin the organizing of the next D/s Dinner/salon and my Fourth Annual Sexy Sauna Birthday Bathhouse for Women.

Oh, and the boi sold her house. Which means she’ll be here soon. YES.

• BBQ after party with some of the Perverati and a loooong talk with Malik. Much to think about. Lots of folks thinking about Mayhem #
• Showering Together: it’s not just a ritual, it’s common sense and water conservation… OK maybe there’s some D/s in there too… #
• Is it true that there are only 2 contestants for IMsL? How can that be? Any from out of the States? Like SPLF, isn’t it National? #
• Raised by Leathermen, would the boi have felt at home here at SPLF? Must investigate IMsL and MLT. How queer? Straight folks? #
• So much militaristic presence in US airports. Announcements about abandoned luggage. Terrorist threat levels. It’s not the caffine #
• I had no idea that so many IMsL folk would be at the South Plains Master/slave conference. Maybe because Vannie has so few declared folks #
• Have been thinking about the language of M/s and aside from racial politics, the bottom line is: the community deserves better. #
• Love harder, try harder, more patience, more questions… This past weekend has reaffirmed my commitment to that mantra #

• A commercial I shot a few years ago has been short-listed for a “World’s Funniest” type of TV show. Mama is crossing fingers! #
• The past: High voice “How are U this morning Hows the pain Feeling bloated or distended Passing gas ok?” my eyes weren’t even open #
• Off to TopShelf in Burnaby. Tonight’s topic is “The Role of Contracts in MsDs” Wonder who wil be present. Need to work on Ds Salon #
• Any economists out there? What might it look like if the US acts on the talk of nationalizing banks? What woud be the effects us? #
• I think it’s true that most of the world’s econimists believed in models under which ther current global situation could not occur #
• OK… Unexpected resources arrived. Am now going to IMsL… #
• 2 hr w/Dragon Lady on interface for online database apps CHECK. 2 hr w/boss on wireframes and app development CHECK. Creampuff pls #
• The current use of Master/slave language ignores history, race and class. Why so stubborn and invested in inaccurate language ppl? #
