What a week.
After waiting and waiting the arts and culture community of BC has finally received the news everyone dreaded to hear. The cuts are coming, and the cuts are BIG. Here we are less than six months to the Olympics and the cultural fabric of the province is being shredded. Over the the next several weeks we’ll be hearing what organizations and events might survive. Which puts into question VANOC’s Cultural Olympiad. What will it look like if the organizations making up its programming go out of business?
Out On Screen, which was a WHOLE lot of fun as the finale to a month of queerness. I saw some good and some ugly. A lasting legacy of that event for me is the number of people asking me about the spit trail. Really people, I was talking about Star Trek Deep Space Nine! I didn’t realize any of it would end up being part of the trailer!
