Semi-Annual Server Training Workshop by NorCal Tea Society

WHAT: Intensive hands-on server training for the tea parties hosted
by the NorCal Ladies Tea and Discussion Society.

WHEN: Sunday, January 18, 2009
WHO: All genders and orientations are welcome to apply to take the
training workshop. (You don’t have to be a member of the Tea Society
or any other group.)

TIME: 10am *sharp* thru 6pm (Yes, that’s a full eight hours of
instruction and guided practice!)

COST: $40 per person. This includes the instruction book, a sandwich
lunch and all training materials.

WHERE: a private home in the SouthBay (RSVP for exact location)

DRESS CODE: Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be making
sandwiches, doing dishes, kneeling, sitting and stretching, so dress
comfortably! Bring an apron, if you like.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: This workshop includes intensive hands-on
training including instruction and guided practice. Everyone who
attends will make tea sandwiches, create garnishes, wash dishes,
practice kneeling, and learn how to give hand massages and foot
baths. Of course everyone will also learn how to make and serve a
proper pot of tea! This is a full eight-hour day of instruction.
Those who complete the entire training workshop will be eligible to
serve at the next tea party. (Untrained servers are not eligible to
serve at NorCal Tea Society tea parties.)

This workshop is offered only twice a year.

ADDITIONAL INFO
: If you sign up for the class and find that you
cannot attend after all, you _must_ cancel your RSVP* _at least_ 48
hours in advance of the class, or you will still be expected to pay
for the class. (Many of the items used in the class are perishable,
so they cannot be used at a future class.)

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not sign up if you have to leave early,
will arrive late or have some other problem with attending the entire
class.
